Our Spanish Advenure

Our Spanish adventure starts with a conference in Valencia - May 4 &5. When I had a poster abstract accepted for publication at the Modern and Contemporary Mural Paintings Conference at the Universidat Politecnica de Valencia, that presented a great opportunity for a trip to Spain. Peter took to the idea happily and he has plotted a route through the Pyrenees - on a motorcycle.
After Valencia we head to Barcelona where we pick up the BMW Motorcycle. The route is a combination of twisty, curvy roads and cool sites along the way. We take in the Salvador Dali town of Figueres, and then go west as far as Pamplona (no, the bulls won't be running when we're there.) Eight days in total on the bike with some time to explore Barcelona at each end of the trip. All our accomodation is booked and routes are loaded onto the GPS. And, of course, I have had to upgrade my motorcycle gear - can't take chances with safety. So I have new jacket, pants and gloves. Next thing to worry about is how to pack into the saddle bags and top box for eight days of touring.
However, before setting out I can't forget the original motivaton for the trip and I have been hard at working completing the paper for publication- almost 5,000 words with the catchy title "The Case of the Disappearing Community Murals in east Toronto, Canada."  Muchas gracias to Andrea, Sarah and Lilie with editing and extra thanks to Rick who somehow managed to make sense of my writing to turn it into a super cool poster.
